Glass push-buttons, glass wall thermostats and matching glass frames — for the first time eQ-3 presents wall controls in high-quality real glass.
Bright prospects for design lovers: for the first time, eQ-3 presents wall push-buttons and thermostats made of high-quality glass that fit perfectly into stylish interiors. Simple operation and flexible programming make the exclusive glass product line a smart home highlight.
Wall buttons and light switches often look unremarkable, yet they are among the most frequently used controls in everyday life. eQ-3 now stages exactly these products anew with a smart twist: high-quality real glass in elegant black or timeless white meets top functionality. The line comprises glass push-buttons, wall thermostats with and without CO2 sensor, and the matching glass frames.
The surface of durable, hygienic real glass draws every eye. In standby the display brightness is automatically reduced; a short press on the touch-sensitive glass reveals the full functionality.
The glass push-button can be used flexibly in one-, two- or four-button mode and configured to control all Homematic IP solutions — from light and shading through to access. Optical feedback via illuminated separators makes operation especially easy, and touching a button triggers an immediate send command. A long press, for example for dimming lights, and a quick-action function when all touch areas are pressed at once can also be programmed.
The wall thermostat shows target and actual temperature, humidity and, depending on the version, CO2 values across several display modes. Touching the + and − areas changes the temperature in 0.5 °C steps. The integrated relay can drive thermal actuators directly to control underfloor heating; where there is no underfloor heating, the switching output can be used as a light switch — ideal for retrofits.
Installation and configuration: the glass inserts are fitted into a supplied flush-mounted unit and powered from it with 230 V. Besides the power supply, the flush-mounted unit contains a switching relay, so existing light switches can simply be replaced. With the glass push-button, the extension input of the flush-mounted module can also be evaluated and configured as either a switch or a push-button sensor, so conventional buttons from the existing electrical installation can be used in parallel.
As part of the Homematic IP smart home system, the glass series communicates wirelessly and is set up, programmed and controlled through the free Homematic IP app.
From mid-2025 the following products are available: glass push-button (white or black), glass wall thermostat (white or black), glass wall thermostat with CO2 sensor (white or black), and glass frames in 1-, 2- and 3-gang versions (white or black).
